LATE LOCALS.
The mails which left Auckland on 20th December by the R.M.S. Niagara via Vancouver, arrived in London on 23rd January, 1922.
The trotting events on the Westland Racing Club’s programme have been approved for the Easter meeting. Tho programme will he circulated this week.
Mr Markham of the Postal Department, arrives this evening and will take deputations at the Customs House at 6.45 o’clock. To-morrow Mr Mark-' liapi will visit liari Mari, returning to Grcviuoutli in the evening.
The Hokitika Beautifying Society has made a commencement with the painting of the Cass Square fence, and tlie work when completed will add greatly to tbe improved appearance of the grounds and vicinity.
