A DEADLOCK

In fact, only Auckland and Christchurch afe interesting themselves in the proposed ballot, representations to Wellington and Dunedin on the matter having failed to elicit replies.

It is understood that the Executive Council of the Alliance of Labour intend to act on their own initiative; that the Executive Council will recommend to the various unions, societies, etc., in the Alliance how to vote.
