At the New Zealand tournament at Dunedin, on the opening day (Wednesday) in the singles Jones (Greymouth) had two wins and a loss; 18 to 13, 12 to 27, 21 to 20. McKay (Greymoutli) had two losses, 1(5 to 18, 10 to 20. Blackwood (Greymoutli) had two losses, 18 to 28, and 11 to 17.

DUNEDIN, Jan. 1.2 The Singles Competition in the Dominion Bowling Tournament to-day reached the .semi-finals. The Bracketrounds'o and 10 were this afternoon played on the Dunedin green. Those remaining in the competition ■•re: —Kerr (Mnstcrton) with two lives, Rigby (N.E. Valley), Smith (Caledonian), Acless (St Kilda), Caroll (St Kilda), each with one life. The pairs competition will start tomorrow. The singles will be finished on a date to be fixed, probably Saturday.
