Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale .yesterday.:— ... gfpfe sheepi—A small yarding, mostly wethers. Although there was no improvement in prices, the majority of .the yarding was sold at auction. Wethers brought from 6s to 7s 4d, ewes and lambs front 3aj 9d to 5s 9d, all ■counted. Rape lambs from 7s 6d to 10s lid. The market generally was dull, except! for rape lambs, which sold •wel|l.

Store cattle.—A small yarding, mostly nondescript lots, and, it was a dull sale, very few quotable lines being yarded. One line of mixed' sex yearlings good sorts, but in low condition made 235; 2 year old steres 25s to 40s; 3 year ditto £3 to £3 10s, best cows to 355,

Beef.—A comparatively small yardin® and the quality generally was indifferent. There were no outstanding lines and the market was much about the same as last sale. Prime steers £9‘ to £l2 10s; extra, to £l4; medium £6 to £8 15s; others £4 to. £5 15s, prime heifers, £5 10s to £6 10s; others £4' to £5 ss; prime cows, £4 10s to £7; others £3 to £4 ss.

Mutton.,—A smaller yarding, mostly ewes. The market was slightly fiymer, especially for wethers, hut ewes did not show much difference. Freezing buyers weld again operating for lighter quality. Prime wethers,- 18s to 235; medium 15s 6d to 17s 6d; lighter 12s to 15s; best ewes to 15s 3d; prime Us to 13s 6d; medium 8s 6d to 10s 6d; others to .’ss 6d. Lambs were firmer and/, freezing buyers keen.
