. The Federal Cabinet has considered the question of surplus butter stocks- in England. Air Hughes announced the Government had favourably considered the suggestion to give financial backing to tlie purchase bv Australian dairymen of the surplus Australian butter in the Imperial pool. He pointed out the de- • on fundamentally differed from the original request, that Government accept responsibility for the purchase and disposal of the butter. The Butter Conference meets to-day and will consider the proposal and scheme for cairying it out.
