DAIL EIREANN.
RESUMES THE DEBATE. (Received This Day at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Dec 20. The Dail Eireann has resumed. Air De A’alera gave notice of his intention to move an alternative proposal, before a vote was taken to sign the ratification of the Treaty. He declared there could not l>e such a thing as ratification. Gorey, assistant Minister of Fisheries opposed the ratification under the Treaty as Ireland would thereby march into the Empire with her hands up. He I asked whether there was a coalition of pressure on Barton and Duffy by.the other three Irish delegates and British Cabinet. They were invincible on Dec. 3rd but tlieir cause was undermined by the following Tuesday. The people of Ireland must know the story of that Black Albnday night. IJoyd George mesmerized President AA llson, and it is no wonder lie mesmerized their people when ho shook his papers in their faces. , . De Valera’s motion declares that inasmuch as the articles of the Treaty do not reconcile Irish National Aspirations and the Association of Nations forming the British Commnwealth, and cannot establish a lasting peace, the Paof Eir*

IRISH liabourite’S view. LONDON, December 19. A prominent Irish trade unionist, writing to a British colleague says: “Don’t worry! The; Treaty will go through all right.” THE ONLY DIFFERENCE. (Received This Day at 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, December 20. Excitement prevailed in the Dail ESreann when Mr Malroy declared the ortlv different between the parties was that the Treaty was against de Valera’s oath, reading—“l swear to bear true faith, and allegiance to the constitution of Ireland and Treaty of Association with the British Community of Nations and recognise the King as head of the Associated States. De Valera angrily protested against the revelation of a secret document. Mr Griffith—“ The people ought to know it is the only difference.” TROOPS IN IRELAND. 'Received This Day at 1.30 p.in.) LONDON, Dec. 20 Arrangements to embark troops at Queenstown for Milford Haven are cancelled, and a special train to carry troops from South Ireland wits also cancelled for the present. It stated, owing to the uncertainty of the Dail Eireann ratifying the Treaty the troops are not to he embarked unless the Treaty is ratified.
