The Basket Ball at Kokatahi.
Tin' Basket Hull held in the Public Hull at Kokatahi on last Wednesday evening proved a great success. The Hall was crowded with dancers including several motor loads of visitors front Hokiuika and lioss. Mrs W. Morris, .Miss M. (riese and Mr J. \V. Kelly supplied a popular programme of dance music. Just prior to supper, Mr \Y. Jeffries announced the winning Imskets. The first prize was won by Mrs AN . Keller and the second by Airs A. Alehfl.rry. These two baskets displayed very tine work and numerous others although not successful displayed very good taste. The baskets were subsequently auctioned and realized a very substantial sum. Mr Jeffries then thanked every one who had assisted in making the function such a success. The bazaar stall holders were deeply grateful to the promoters, the musicians, the M.C. and to the numerous other willing helpers in the district who had assisted them. latter in the evening a waltzing competition was held. Mr K. McGregor acted as judge. Tea couples entered. The winners were Mr ,T. Tinnock and Miss Alilner with Afr I{. Norman and Atiss K. Kidd second.
