i A serious riot occurred at Hoorah, Calcutta where members of Khalifat meeting attacked a magistrate and police with stones and sticks. The police fired on the rioters and one policeman was killed and one dangerously wounded while eight suffered lesser injuries. Rioting resuming on Sunday and Monday and one policeman was stabbed in the back. The Ghurkas were brought up to maintain order. The extremist casualties are unknown de- • finitely. All meetings are prohibited until further notice.
