HONORING THE MAYOR

BOROUGH COUNCIL’S PRESENTATION. At the meeting of the Borough Council last evening, Mr John Lloyd, (Chair man of the Public Works Committee!, on behalf of the CouneciL made a presentation to the Mayor (Mr Perry) of a framed photograph of the Conned. Mr Llovd read the following address: “AVe vour colleagues on the Courtcil cannot allow the event of your marriage to pass without showing to you in some slight way the esteem in which von are held os' Mayor by those whom you have presided over Your sound judgment and valuable knowledge has at. all times been most helpful to the Council, and Sir, wishing to show their appreciation ot those sterling qualities which you possess. I ask you to accept on the Council’s behalf a framed photograph of the Council ov c r which you so ably presided so that in years to come you will be able to look upon it, and eav that is the Council of which I was Mayor when I entered upon a most juippv event of my life. Trusting dear Sir that yon and your good lady may he long spared to enjoy yotir days together. Air Llovd then presented the framed photograph to the .Mayor (applause). Air Perry thanked members of the Council for their kindly gift. He referred to the very pleasant relations that had always existed between himself and the Council. That had always been of

the most friendly nature and he would always look back with pleasure to their happy connection. He appreciated very much what they had done, and on behalf of Mrs Perry and) himself bo sincerely thanked them for their kindness and jtood wishes.
