J. Stevens. M.L.C. She was aged 89 years, and came to New Zealand in 1858. She was greatly interested in racing and trotting, and was the first lady member of a trotting club in New Zealand.

Yesterday the grounds of the Greymouth Bowling Club were filled by a happy gathering on the occasion of the opening of the season. During the afternoon the lady supporters of the Club were as in past years, numerously in evidence attending to the wants of the inner man, they dispensing an excellent afternoon ten to loth the players and all other guests of the Club present.
