At the annual mooting of the West Coast Timher Workers' -Union, held on Saturday, the following oflirers were declared elected: PreskV'iit, Mr U. Topp; vice-president, Mr T. Move; se-cretary-treasurer, Mr I l ’. Turley; committee; Messrs M. Clancy, J. McQuilkin. Hex Fitzgerald, .1. Coitlson, M. AlcLaiighlan. The proposals for a new agreement were, discussed, and Messrs It. Topp. (president!, T. Move (vicepresident), and F. Turley (secretary) were appointed a committee to act for the union in connection with the agree, merit. At the Magistrate’s Court, (Weymouth yesterday before Mr A). Meldrunt, S.M.. three men T. P. Cavanagh, W. C. P. McXiool asd, P. N. Uohinson, were clrargcd that on or ahout October sth, 1921 at Roa, they did break and enter the Pnpnron Hotel and ,d?d steal therefrom two bottles of rum, one bottle of whisky, one bottle of sherry, and one bottle of port, of tiro value of £3 tile property of James Irvine, After hearing lengthy evidence the Magistrate said that Cavanagh and MeXicol would be fined £2 each and Robinson £5. In addition each was ordered to pay one-third of the costs of the ease, which totalled £0 17s l()d. Three weeks were allowed in which to pay, on condition that the accused reported themselves not less than once a week to the police at blackball. A very successful concert was held at St Mary’s Club rooms last evening, when the I toys of the Convent school d. lighted the audience with a short hut very complete programme. Kach performer acquitted himself with credit, which speaks highly of the training they received from their teachers. The
