The Reform Party has promised so much economy of expenditure; reduction of taxation; prudent and busi-ness-like administration, to mention some of the leading items—and has failed so dismally to keep its promises that it can hardly he blamed if at this late stage it takes the candid course of frankly warning the people that it is unable to pursue its policy or fulfil its pledges.—Lyttelton Times.
