ARTHUR’S PASS TUNNEL.

LINING OF TUNNEL COMPLETED SATURDAY NIGHT. i A private message received by the Hon Secretary of the Westland Chamber of Commerce to-day, supplied the very pleasing news that the lining of the Arthur’s Pass tunnel was completed on Saturday night. This is a very good record, and is evidence of the hastening of the work, as under ordinary calculations it was not exjpeeted that this .portion of the work would he finished before next Wednesday, at the earliest. Thus is another and very important stage of the great work •nrried to completion.
