What is regarded as an important development lias occurred at Belfast, a truce being arranged between the Catholics and Protestants representatives. Tlie prisoners dug the tunnel beneath their* huts. They were working on it night after night, and finally they completed the tunnel to beyond the limits of the camp. T'hev cleverly concealed debris which they removed, and they propped up the sides of the underground passage with wood from the floors of their huts.
Finally they escaped during a concert which the other prisoners wire giving in tlie camp, and which a number of the military guards were enjoy-

REPORTED ACCEPTANCE. (Received This Dav at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 11. ft is generally believed among Dilblin Sinn Feiners that the invitation to The Conference at Inverness will be accepted. It is rumoured in Dublin that He Valera is sending Lloyd George an acceptance to the Conference before tbe meeting of the Dail Eirean on Wednesday’, which will appoint plenipotentiaries. A HOLD UP. Four armed men entered the Post Office in North Queen street, Belfast, and shouted: “Hands up.” The postmistress seized and threw inkstands at the intruders heads, causing them to flee precipitately.
