WELLINGTON .WOOL SALES. [BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, August 19. At the wool sales to-day 10,700 bales were offered and approximately 95 per cpnt. sold. Prices as compared with .July jates ranged from par to litth better. A marked feature was the continental activity, while American buyers also competed for lines suitable fo that market. Bradford was busy at i price, but local wool was not in demand and prices wert decidedly easier. Extra and superfine crossbred .wools we'-, better all round, but the demand was mainly for medium and coarse crossbreds. Bellies and pieces were down a halfpenny on July rates and crutchings were at fair raft's. The following were the prices ruling to-day: Southdown 9Jd to Kkl; half-bred medium to good 7d to 8d; inferior ,5-)d to G}d; crossbred 48-50. sid to 7d; 46-48, 4|d to 53d: 44-46, 4id to old; 40-44 3Jd to 43d; 36-40 3(1 to 3RI; inferior dingy and seed 2d to 3d ; hoggets, all descriptions 3.|d to s:]d; lambs, fine 5.Jd to 7/d; medium Id to sjd; inferior Id to |d ■ Southdown Gd to 7d; bellies and pieces crossbreds 1(1 to 3d; looks to-rlav ; |d to Lpl; crutchings 2d to 3jd; seedy Id to IRI.
