Just before arriving at Duntroon, the engine jumped the rails, owing to a stone on a level crossing. It partly overturned and Puttiek leaped off, hut was jammed hv the tender and died instantaneously.

A SKELETON FOUND. GISBORNE. August IS A Lion's discovered a skeleton in the bush near Maliiki railway station. Gisborne, northwards of the line. The police are not aware of any person having been mussing in that vicinity.
