Lloyd George.** There are efforts to prejudice Ulster by a report of her rejection of the Government’s proposals. Thdso have aroused considerable resentment. Ulster’s position is unchanged. It will remain so until Mr de Valera replies to Hon. Lloyd George.
The correspondent adds: —“Though Ulster dislikes autonomy in any part of Ireland, this will not he a stumbling block to final peace. If the South accepts autonomy, then Ulster will have a right to demand a reconsideration of her financial position. Ulster’s present share of Imperial liabilities is 44 per pent of the £18.000,000 that Ireland must contribute for each of the first two years. This share was fixed during the inflated war time prosperity. Ulster is now feeling ilie world-wide trade depression.” THE CASE OF MBS LINDSAY. LONDON, Aug.
