ARAHURA VALLEY NOTES.

'***' a Correspondent). A very sueeessful euchre and hall was held in the One Mile Hall last Thursday night, when a crowded house greeted the committee. The ladies’ prizes for the euchre, which were presented by Mrs Douglas, were won by Miss L. Bernhard Ist (a. suit case), Mrs Bowkett 2nd (a toast rack and cruet). The gent’s prizes were won by Mr A. Richards Ist (a homing jug), and Mr A. Gold 2nd (a box of handkerchiefs) these being kindly presented by Mr R. Bradley. The consolation prizes fell to Mrs R. Bradley and Master F. Adams. During the evening Mr \V. Bernhard thanked one and ail for their kind attendance, especially thanking Mrs Douglas and Mr I). Bradley for donating the prizes for the euchre.

The hall was then cleared for dancing, the floor being crowded and with the excellent music supplied by Mr Rutherford, everything passed off merrily. Extras for the dance were very nicely played by "M isses M. Olsen and R, Ward. During the evening items were given by Messrs Bernhard, Curtain, Wright and Ward, and the floor was in charge of Messrs McGuignn and Bernhard, kindly assisted by -Messrs Adams and Breeze. At 2 a.m. the crowd wended their wav home, all wondering when the next one was coming off, and they will find that it will Ik? at no distant date.
