HOKITIKA BOXING ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Committee of the Hokitika Boxing Association was held last evening, when there were present —Messrs F. McGregor (Chairman), N. VV. Tulloch, E. W. Heenan, W. Staveley, G. Shaw, J. J. Morgan, and 0. J. P. Sellers.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the outward correspondence was read and approved.

The inward correspondence was dealt with as follows :

From .J. Cuy (Camerons) offering to bring an amateur team on a Saturday afternoon to compete with local members. It was decided tc accept the offer and notify Mr Guy which Saturday would suit.

Prom B. Biddulph re match with Wilson. As word was received from Wilson that he could not draw the stipulated weight, it was deckled to write Biddulph to this effect. Mr J. Hagar was unanimously appointed and Messrs J. Fanner and R. Saunders were elected members.

The programme for the forthcoming tourney was drawn up, the classes being bantam, feather, light, middle, and heavy weights and the rounds to be three of two minutes each.

The tourney officials were appointed. Mr W. O’Brien of Kokatahi toeing appointed Referee. The nominations for the tourney close on Saturday the 20th. August. The chairman announced that the gymnasium in his North Rovoll Street premises was now ready and it was decided to open same on Thursday the •21st. inst. at 8 p.m. when boxing will lie indulged in. A hearty invitation is

extended to all lovers of the sport to be present. The meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
