(TIRISTCIIUIK'H, July 15 An adjourned inquest concerning the dentil of ail illegitimate female child tmuni dead on June JlOtli in a dress basket in a room in the United Service Hotel, was held to-day. Dr Pearson deposed that a number of wounds were visible in the child’s hack and the spinal cord had been injured. In reply to the Coroner, witness said that the smaller wounds might have hen caused after death, but the neck wounds and those on the hark were inflicted during life.
The Coroner found that death in due to an incised wound which laid been intentionally caused. After the inquest, Hilda Louisa Burgess, aged 16 years S months, was charged that about July Ist she murdered her illegitimate female child. An application by the police for a remand was granted.
WAR LOAN ( 'ERTI El CATES. WELLINGTON. July 15 The Post Office War Loan Certificates purchased during the early years of the war, will commence to mature next month. Arrangements are being made to enable holders to renew their investments in Government securities at an increased rate of interest. The Post Office will accept War Loan Certificates on maturity at face value for investment in inscribed stock or hearer-bonds on six per cent interest, payable halfyearly with 10 years currency, t<> August I. 1931. Inscribed stock will hi* issued in multiples of CIO with a minimum of CIOO, and hearer-bonds for L’.V), Cloo, CSOO. or £IOOO as may 'be required.

He apparently mistook his station, remaining on the train until starting, and in attempting to alight, slipped between the platlorm ami carriage, and was dragged about a carriage length, death being instantaneous. The bodv was terribly mutilated.
