AUSTRALIAN ANL N.Z. OABLE ASSOCIATION. CONFERENCE BEGINS. LONDON, July 14. Mr Lloyd George and Mr de Valera had a conference alone this afternoigi*, Sir J. Craig (.Ulster Leader), joins the conference to-morrow.
On receiving a 'telegram from Mr [Joycl George, lie left Belfast immediately for London. GIRL SHOT HEAD. LONDON, July 14. Revolver firing lias been continued in tlie York Street district of Belfast city to-night. A 14-year old girl was killed and two police and also civilians were wounded, including William Gray, a Labour unionist, and the member' for north-west Belfast, who was shot in the chest.
MOMENTOUS M BETTNG. (Received Tin’s Da\ at 8 a.m.) LONDON, July L 4. Do Valera, Burton, Arthur O’Brien had a meeting with Hon. Lloyd George which lasted 2.; hours. The result is not announced. Whitehall was crowded and the delegation had an enthusiastic reception from Irishmen at the entrance in Downing Street. Many knelt as the delegates passed and recited their Rosary and sang hymns.
STATEMENT BY LLOYD GEQRGE. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. Hon. Lloyd George unexpectedly attended dinner in McCurdy’s honour and was received with acclamation by six hundred present. He said he had iepoi'tcd the proceedings as the conference with de Yailera to the King, through whose intervention so much had] boon maefe possible. The King must be given credit, for having done ono of the greatest sendees to the world.* (Applause). Hon. Lloyd George proceeded to discuss the future of the Coalition, ile twitted the independent Liberals with not desiring a general ejection. There liad Hieon a remarkable change in the last few weeks. The human tempers seemed subsiding, and there was a spirit of conciliation in the industrial workl, and better outlook between employer and workers. There also was a remarkable transformation in Ireland but the less said about that the better. (Shouts of “go oil.”).

Lloyd George,— “No you must not tempt me to indiscretion at this juncture, but it is a fact that do Valera, the chieftain of a vast majority of the Irish has been in conference with t u> British Premier discussing methods and suggestions for a settlement of the long, bitter, wasteful feud. They will meet again to-morrow and it is hoped they win secure peace.” (Loud cheers')
•A DENTAL. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. Lord Middleton denies the “Morning Post’s” statement that he and de Valera provisionally agreed upon the terms to he demanded of the British Government, including Dominion Home Rule. Lord Middleton says this question was not discussed at the meeting. Sinn Fein has issued a similar denial.
RIOTS IN BELFAST. (Received This Dav at 8.30 a.m.) LONDON. July 15 Further rioting occurred in Belfast late last night. One person was killed and 30 to 10 wounded, A licensed house was burned and looted, and there was much shop looting.
