SYDNEY, July 13 Lessees of, landed property have been ruled liable to he charged extra for increases in rates and income tax. The Fair Rents Court has ruled tljat a landlord may add any increase of income tax and rates to the rental. SYDNEY COUNCIL ELECTIONS. SYDNEY, July 13 Tiie keenest, interest is being displayed in the forthcoming many City Council elections. Both sides (Labour and Anti-Labour) are preparing the Labourites to retain office, and the Anti-Lahcmrites to try and recapture control. The revision of the rolls is proceeding. It is causing much heart-burning, and thousands of objections have already been lodged. These include over 3000 objections to leaseholders, property owners, and occupiers that have been lodged on behalf of the Australian Labour Party.
TERRIBLE TRAGEDY. BURNING OF INFANTS. ADELAIDE, July 13 Details of the Rcnmnr Hospital burning tragedy show • that a diphtheria patient who oeeupied ail adjoining tent to that in which the four little children met their death heard the scream of the children, and attempted to rescue them. Finding the front of the tent in a mass of flames, he tried to enter the side, but collapsed from weakness. Another male patient rushed through the (lames, suffering severe burns and brought out three of the children, who died litter. The Matron also entered the tent in her night, attire, and carried out the remaining child, hut too bite to save its life. The terrified screams of the infants were heard half a mile away.
