On Wednesday Pollards are screening a Selznick Feature starring Owen Moore in ‘ The Desperate Hero”. It is a rollicking comedy-drama in which the hero as played by Owen Moore, starts blithely out to the country in a small motor —his only possession—to escape a tailor creditor. As a result of his efforts to avert the tailor’s summons he finds himself bound into servitude for

his two weoks to the husband of a former sweetheart. A strange wo urn claims him for her husband much to his disgust and a number of other incidents occur to make him feel the heavy hand of misfortune. Before the tangle is straightened out Mr Moore has gone through many odd and laughable s:tuations—butt the. desperate hem although not very heroic wins out. The latest Co-op Weekly and a Sunbeam comedy completes the programme. On Thursday, Pollards are presenting a triple star programme headed by a special picture that will please l oth young and old alike, 'a big Circus picture entitled “Hoop La” starring liillio Rhodes. Nell Shipman will bo the star in a Big Vitagraph Drama entitled “A Gentleman’s Agreement” and last hut not least the latest episode of the popular serial “The Silent Avenger ’’

To-night at the AVestland Opera House the Peoples Pictures present a star attraction in the screening of the great classic production, “A Daughter of Brahma,” which has been secured bv the management of the Peoples Pictures at an enormous expense. This picture is" one of the six leading productions in Now Zealand to-dnv. and is a British and Continental release. The supporting programme will l-e a great picture, “New Zealand, the Land of the Digger.” Prices are as usual, no extra charge.
