(Our own Correspondent.) BOROUGH COUNCIL. The ordinary meeting of tin* Ross Rormigh Council took place on Wednesday evening. Present: —His Worship the .Mayor (S. P. Evans, Esq.), Crs. J. ALinehau, F. AleAlullan, J. Pethig, J. Thomson and C. Black. The minutes of the previous'meeting Men* read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved. IN \V ARD CORRKSPONDENCE. From Hospital Board, notifying levy was payable in 12 monthly instalments instead of 9 as previously suggested.— Received. Km hi W. Smith, Christchurch, suhnfilting price list of Biograph machine. —Received and referred to Hall Committee for consideration. ! From Alines Department, that early application he made for any road grants for Goldfields estimates. —Received. | From Health Officer, re registration hy local authorities of lodging houses mill offensive trades.—Received. ! From Hutcheson, AYilson and Co., Wellington, submitting price list of tools.—Received. ! From Treasury, notifying remittance of US, Goldfields revenue for .May Received. From James Thomson, applying for slaughtering license within Borough.— j Received and recommended. From Resident Engineer, asking for , amount spent on Beach and Donoghues roads for'past two years.—Received ; ■ particulars to he supplied. I From McKay and Son, applying for | Itinerant Traders license and to hire ! Totarn Hall for one week. — Granted, j The Finance Committee presented accounts to the amount of L's(> 3s 10d which were passed lor payment. Owing to some residents depositing rubbish about the town oil other than rubbish depot, it was resolved to take action against any offenders in future. Specifications in connection with lease of reserve- No. 312 (2 acres) foi one year were read and approved of, and tenders opened as follows: —C. Black, Cl2 ss; H. McMullan, £lO 12s (sd. The tender of C. Black was accepted. It was resolved to call tenders returnable at next meeting for grazing rights of Recreation for one year and for a live years’ lease of freehold section adjoining cemetery. C’r Thomson gave notice to move at next’ meeting that the Town Clerk’s salary he increased. The meeting then terminated.
