AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION

SINN FEIN UNIONIST CONFERENCE. LONDON. July J.

There has been a conference between the Sinn Fein leaders and the Southern Unionists’ representatives opened at the .Mansion House at Dublin. Intercession services for the success of this conference have been held in several churches.

The conference has adjourned till Friday, after reaching an agreement in certain points.

The “Star Spangled Banner” was much sung in Ireland on Monday, and there was a great display of American flags. t . The Lord Mayor of Dublin, speaking from the stops of Mansion House, said that all hoped a great deal would come out of the Conference, which was the most momentous over ’—M in Ireland. Air Do Valera also spoke ~ancl said it was a great happiness to be among his own people. The deliberations at Dublin .Mansion House Conference lasted three and aquarter hours. Lord Middleton and the Unionist delegates were heartily cheered by a crowd as they left. The released Sinn Fein leaders have joined Air De Valera. One, Mr A. Griffiths (Vice-President) drew up an official report, which announced an adjournment of the Conference till 1 ( ridav.

The nature of the agreements is not yet divulged, but it is believed to include a fresh appeal to Sir Jas. Craig, which the Southern Unionists have undertaken to convey.

It is noteworthy that no troops arc allowed near the South Irish*' Conference, the police alone directing the traffic.
