POLLARD’S PICTURES. TRIPLE STAR. PROGRAMME. TO-NIGHT. To-night one of the strongest and biggest programmes ever screened in Hokitika will be presented by Pollards at the Princess Theatre. Elaine Hammerstein in “The Country Cousin” six acts, produced by Selznick; Margarita Fisher in “Trixie from Broadway” five acts, and William Duncan and Edith Johnston in the latest and best of serials “The Silent Avenger” two parts. “The Country Cousin” is a story of simple people you love to meet. It lias high limits and shadows of contrasting types that display an almost eery knowledge of human nature. It has a romance that it as sweet as the days of childhood. a lt is rural simplicity versus city sophistication. Which will win? Margarita Fisher is hack again in another breezy picture “Trixie from Broadway”—only this time she appears as a chorus girl, a little ray of sunshine from her revue, “Oh Chicken” who is wooed and won by a resourceful Westerner. After the newness had worn off, Margarita didn’t take kindly to the exchange of the bright lights of Broadway for the hayseeds, and it aas up to her caveman husband to teach her a few lessons in wifely behaviour. Tlis efforts, Margarita’s waywardness, and the disgust of the village, make a snappy, fast-moving melodramatic co-medy-drama with a, sensational thril 1 that comes as a surprise climax.
