The entries total 3007, against 2942 last year. JOCKEYS SUED. AUCKLAND, June 21 At the Magistrate’s Court, the N.Z. Jockeys Association claimed from Jour jockeys—A. J. McFlynn, L. G. Morris, B. H. Morris and R. Hitch, sums ranging from £35 16s 9d to £7 10s 6d, subscriptions and percentages of riding moneys earned during the last six months. Defendants claimed they were absolved fro!m liability because each had given notice of his resignation from the Association six months previously, but at the time of the expiration of the six months’ notice, they had not paid the amounts of subscriptions due on the date of resignations. It was stated by counsel for defendants that they had advised them that such moneys not having been paid, their resignations had become negative. The cases were therefore adjourned so that the claim in each case may be paid.
