Messrs Matson and Co. import as Ini4ov.s regarding their slock sale yesterday : J'cef.—The yarding was considerably larger than last week, but tile market was firm, especially for good quality. Several lines of station cattle were yard ed but were of indifferent quality, and generally sold well. . The market eased off towards the end. fextra best steers to £23 10s; prime £l6 15s to £2l; med,im £l2 10s to £l6; others £7 5s to £ll 15s. Heifers and cows in the same proportion. Store cattle.—A small yarding and very mixed quality. Practically no big cattle were offering. The sales included 12 to 18-mos. mixed sexes, £1 les to i... ,‘s CG; 2 yr. old heifers, good, up to £6; steers £4 ss; best young cows £ 5s to £3 l(.s; others £ls to £35. Mutton.—The largest yarding for weeks past, including many extra good lines. The market opened firm at last week’s rates but eased slightly towards the eivil, especially tor inferior lots. Rest wethers to 355, one extra special line of Su(folks making 425; prime 21s 6d to 28s; medium, 18s fid to 20s f)d, lighter and graziers, 16s 3d to, 17s Od; best ewes to 265; prime 18s 6d to fid; medium, 14s 6d to 17s fid; others 11s to 13s 9d. Lambs were also firm. Store sheep.—A smaller yarding and the' market generally was firmer all round. The entry comprised mostly wethers of all classes, and sold readily at last week’s rates. Best wethers to 17s Sd• One line of extra good wet.icrs were sold privately at 20s Gd. Median! sorts 14s to 16s 6d; others, 11s to 13s 6d. There were not good ewes offering. 2-tooth up to 17s Gd, S.M. ewes 13s to 15s 6d; store lambs l‘>s for best, others 8s fid to 10s. The quality of the yarding to-dav was in fori or to last week.
