HONORING AN OLD CITIZEN.

On Friday, 10th inst., being the 81st I anniversary of the birthday of Mi Little, of this town, occasion was made by the Office Bearers of the Presbyterian Church to celebrate the event with a social cup of tea to commemorate his long connection with that Church’s Committee of Management—a period of some .50 years—and to wish him many happy returns of the day. An assemblage of many old members of .the congregation and several Office Bearers, with their Pastor, Rev. P. B Fraser, M.A., foregathered at three o’clock in the afternoon, at St Andrew’s liall, and after congratulatory speeches by the Rev Chairman, Messrs Aitken, Folloy, R,itchio, Jas. King, Bruce and Murdoch, and the presentation of a walking stick and a buttonhole favor pinned on by one of the older i lady members, a pleasant hour was spent over the “cup that cheers.” The guest of the hour,, who was accompanied by bis three married daughters, returned thanks for the unexpected honours done him that afternoon, and mnde reference to the early days of the Church’s history in this Town. The afternoon’s gathering was voted a splerfdid success by all present and terminated with tbe singing of the National Anthem.
