N.Z. CUP STAKE RAISED
CHRISTCHURCH, June 8. The stake for the New Zealand Cm has been increased to £2500, along with a cup valued at 100 guineas. STARTING OF TROTTING HANDICAPS. CHRISTCHURCH, June 8. Tlie New Zealand Trotting Association will bring the following notice of motion before the annual conference: “In all handicap events, the handicap allowance shall he made by yards and not by time allowance, and all races shall be started in accordance with the handicap so made.” trotting renominations. At a meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association the question of the right of an owner to renomination for a higher class at a club's meeting after his horse has qualified by performance was one subject to discussion. Tt was decided to advise tho Metropolitan Trotting Club that under the rules they were hound to accept such re-nominations.
