The New Zealand University footballers were entertained at luncheon by j the Sydney University staff. Mr H. S. . Wood, President of the N.S.W. Rugby Union, stated they were unable to estimate the debt owing to New Zealand for keeping the Union flag flying. If it . were not for New Zealand, Sydneyites , would have no one to play against in ; recent years. j The Maori team is expected to play the first match on Ist August. They play three matches in Sydney, one at Mudgee and one on the south coast. 1 QUEENSLAND TEAM’S TOUR. AUCKLAND, May 24. •The itinerary of the Queensland team in New Zealand is as follows: Team arrive at Auckland in time to j play: At Auckland v. Auckland. Saturday, July 23; At Hamilton, v. South Auckland, Wednesday," July 27; at Auckland v. New Zealand, Saturday July 30; At Auckland v Native Team, Wednesday, August 3; At Auckland v . New Zealand, Saturday, August 6th.; At Napier v. Hawke’s Bay, Wednesday August 10; At Wellington v. Wellington, Saturday, August 13; At Greymouth v. West Coast, Wednesday or Thursday August 17th., or August 18; at Christchurch v. Canterbury, Saturday, August 20; At Palmerston North v. New Zealand (or Wellington and Wanganui combined), Wednesday, August 24th. The team leaves Wellington on Thursday, August 25th for Sydney. THE SPRINGBOKS. (Received This Day at 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 25. The Rugby League Committee refused the request by the Rugby Union for the use of the cricket ground for the Springboks’ visit.
