A meeting of the National Executive Council of the National Progressive and Moderate Labour Party, was hold in Wellington on Tuesday, the ,17th inst, presided over by Air C. E. Statham, M.P. The president of the Dunedin District Council (Mr J. S. Dougin*, Mayor of Dunedin) was present.

The lion, general organiser (Mr W. I? Black) submitted the report of b’l activities in Puncdn, where the following representative I)strict Conn il was formed : —President, His Worshi ) the .Mayor of Dunedin (Mr .). S- Douglas); vice- President, Mr 'J'. Somerville (President of. the Chamber < f Commerce); treasurer. Mr ,1. 1?. Watters; secretary, Mr 1C F Algie (accountant); council, Messrs J. M. Stevenson (Mayor of Port Chalmers), H. K. Muller (Mayor of West Harbour), W. R„ Hayward. H. F, Sineoek, Colonel McDonald (late Commandant Otago Military District), E. Sineoek (member of the City Council), >S. B. McDonald (ex-Muyor of St. Kilda), J. McDonald (member Harbour Board), E. Kellett. labour M.P., C. E. Statham, M.P. The National Executive Council warmly welcomed the Mayor of Dunedin and Mr E. Kellett, M.P., and unanimously elected them members of the National ExecpitVe Council;. Mr J. S. Douglas returned thanks for the cordial reception he received. The question of approaching Independent members of Parliament to join the party was fully considered and it was resolved unnimously that this be left entirely to the judgment and decision of the leader, Mr C. E. Statham, M.P. The creation of further district councils was left to the general organiser (Mr W. P. Black).
