Alter Macartney and May lie got going Dickenson replaced Jameson at 44. Macartney was caught when the total was GO, and Moyne was out the same over. Andrews and Bellow brought the score up to 98, before tlu* former was dismissed by an easy catch. One hundred appeared after seventy minutes. The bowling was steady .and tlm fielding fair. Pellew at forty-eight was missed in the slips. He reached fifty in thirty-six minutes. Six runs later he was smartly taken by Burrows. The Hrffno team’s second innings was chiefly notable for Gregory’s success with the ball, and Oldfield’s smartness behind the wickets. 'Phe former accounted for seven wickets for fifty-two runs; while Oldfield had four victims, making seven to his credit during the match. The weather in the afternoon was overcast. 'Pile wickets fell fast in the early stages. Williams at eight Wilkinson at fifteen, and Jameson at nineteen. 'Phe fielding was keen and splendid. The fourth and fifth wicket went at sixty-five. Blount and P. Brooke played a fine forcing game Blount’s being the eighth fifty made against 'the Australians during the tour. With seven down for 124, and half an hour to go, excitement rail high. The field was drawn close in. Fowler’s at 133 dashed hopes, and the remaining wickets went cheaply. The Australians won with twelve minutes to spare MARYLEBONE TEAM. The Marylebone team chosen for Saturday’s match is:—Fry, P. R. Johnston, Kniaght, G. N. Forster, G. T. Stevens A. J. Evans, C. S. Gibson, Hendren, Kennedy, Huddle and Cnrston.
