A GELIGNITE EXPLOSION. WAIHI, May 17. A mysterious explosion apparently caused 'by gelignite, placed m the kitchen range occurred at the Comm - cial boardinghouse at 1.30 this morning. Flying pieces of iron wore hurled through a. partition into the dining room and more or less damage was done to the building and contents. L circumstances are regarded as somewhat suspicious, owing to the recent trouble between a section of the boarders and the landlady. The police are investigating.
