ADDINGTON STOOK MARKET.

AN EASIER MARKET.

(By Talsgraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, May IT Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their slock sale yesterday:— Store sheep.—A small yarding and the'market was about equal to last week’s prices. Best forward wethers* sold up to 14s 7d, others from Ills Gd. Best young ewes up to 17s, others from 12s. A small entry of lambs sold from Gs to 12s. Towards the end of the sale, owing to the inclement weather, buyers disappeared and the market eased considerably.

Store cattle. —A much larger yarding. including n good number of travelled sorts. There was not much change in the market. 3 year old bullocks £4 15s to £5 7s Gd; 18 mos to 2-vr olds steers £2 7s Gd to £3 15s. Best cows £3 to £4 2s Gd. inferior sorts 10s tr 355; yearlings ,15s to 27 Gd. Beef—-An exceptionally large yarding and the quality generally was indifferent. The market was easier, especially for poorer quality, good stuff not suffering to the same extent Best steers £l7 5/-, to £l9/17/6; prime £l4 to £l7; Medium £9/15 - to £l3/10/-; light and inferior £5/5/- to £9/5/-. Heifers to Cl3/10medium £6 to £B/15/others £3 10s to £5 15s. Best cows £7/5,- to £ll/7/6, others £3 to £6/15/-. Mutton—A large yarding including some nice lines of weathers. The market opened up a shade easier than last week, but improved as it progressed and finished up fully 1/6 above the opening rates. Best wethers 22/-, to 25/3, prime 17/6 to 20/6, others 14/6, to 16/9; best owes to 16/6; prime 12/6 to 15/-; others 8/0 to 12/6. Lambs were again better.
