Thoughts For The Times
The Real Joy of Life. The secret of finding fun in work is not a difficult one, and may be put into practice by anybody who wants to make life more interesting. First, have a curiosity about your day’s work. Iry and understand what your business is about; why you' are asked to do your work in a certain way; what part your own task has in the! general scheme of things, and why* it is that your business is either failing or succeeding. Then have ambition for it; resojive that you are after something bigger and better later on. There is a lot to learn if you want to make your equipment all-round. Do not be content to stop at the point that you have reached so far. . Best of all, realise that there is no pleasure like the joy of service. Tofeel that this old world is a. little lx?tter because you were born; that the line you are hoeing has greener grass than the next allotment because you have bent your back to it; that somebody somewhere is happier and better because you have done your job well that’s the best sensation that life will ever bring to you.—The Forum.
