IN IRELAND.
AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LLOYD GEORGE’S OFFER. LONDON, April 21 In the House of Commons, Mr Lloyd George in replying to a question regarding Ireland, said lie repeated that the Government was ready to meet representatives of the Irish people to discuss any proposals offering a prospect of reconciliation and a settlement, hut subject to reservations that the strategic unity of the Empire must he saleguarded, and that Ulster must not be coerced. He declared that so far no reply had been received to a Government offer of a safe conduct lor a meeting of the Dail Eirean.
SHOT DEAD. (Received This Day at 8.39 a.m.) LONDON, April 22 Reilly, an ex-soldier, was .shot dead at Ballyear Clare. As the present parish priest who arrived to administer the last rites as the priest approached, the assailants fired fatal shots into the previously wounded man.
