AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. CABLE DISTRIBUTION. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 22. It is understood that Japan and Franco have accepted the American principle regarding the distribution of German cables, as put forward at the session of the International Communications Conference held at Washington United States get the cables from Guam *' to Yap, and Japan one from Yap to Shanghai, probably when the status is settled. CABLES CONENTION. (Received This Day at 9.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 22. It is understood Japan and France have accepted America’s contentions concerning the distribution of former German cables, decisions to that effect being reached by the Communications Conference, but pending a settlement of the Yap matter, the actual distribution of the Pacific cables will remain in abeyance. It is understood United States will receive Guam to Yap, New York to Brest, and Halifax to Penzance cables. France will receive the former German cables to the African Coast, .and Britain will receive the Canadian-British cable now owned by United States.
