THE WHITE COAL OF THE HILLS.
In these days of world wide coal shortage it is the duty of the nation to develop our unsurpassed water powers to their fullest extent. The Robbins and Myers electric motor is the last word Mn steady construction and efficiency. The motors are suitable for all constant speed services and due to their extreme simplicity of construction are superior to any other type of motor for many classes of service. For example, the absence of commutation, or other sliding electrical contacts of any kind, which may cause sparking,-makes them particularly suitable for operation in mines or factories where inflartlmable dust is to be contended with. The only parts subject to wear are the bearings, and in the Robbins and Myers design this wear is reduced to a minimum by making them dust-proof. Large construction everywhere fully substantiates the makers’ claim of the bigger and better motor. R. C. Ferrand, for many years chief electrician for Tom Pollard, will visit Hokitika on, Wednesday in the interests of .his firm, Daly Bros, and Ferrand and Messrs Brown Bros., sole N.Z. distributors for Robbins and Myers products, nud will be pleased to give further paltitulars and prices. Other lines Mr Ferrand will be pleased to give information on are all classes of installation . work, water power plants, petrol electric sets, electric heaters and irons, electric pumps of all capacities, automobile charging rheostats, in fact for everything electrical. Call at the Red Lion Hotel on Wednesday a-nd t-allv it over.
