The many friends of Mr and Mrs j [leorge Knapp, of Threadneedle Street, , Greymouth, will regret to learn that their youngest son, Edmond, had the misfortune to fracture his leg above the j knee whilst playing in his parents’ yard. The little chap is only four years of age. The death of a well-known Ahstura resident, Mr Tlios H. Garth, took place yesterday at the age of 82 years. He had conducted a store for over half a century at Ahaura, and spent 55 years on the Coast, and after having previously been a sailor, engaged in mining for a while. Deceased was a man of quiet, gonial manner, and was popular throughout the. district, with which he was identified so long as to have become a figure that all will now miss. The late Mr Garth was predeceased by Ins wife 14 years ago, and leaves eight daughters'and three sons, the youngest of whom, Edward, was killed at the war. Sure and certain, WADE’S WORM FIGS.
