MELTING AT HONOLULU. The Press Congress of the World, will bold this year’s meeting at Honolulu, from October fill to 11th. The executive of the Congress has accepted an invitation to meet at Honolulu, presented by the Governor of Hawaii, Mr C. J. M’C'arthv, and others. The Governor of the Philippine Islands invited , the delegates to an exclusion to the Philippines following the sessions in Honolulu. The Executive Committee has accepted this invitation also Preparations for the meeting are v ell under way. Negotiations that will give the delegates and other members attending concessions in transportation and hotel rates are practically completed. The location of the Hawaiian Islands, Hie accessibility of Honolulu, and its general desirability as the seat of the Congress sessions, cause its officers to expect an attendance even lar.” 1 than would have been possibl at “ dney. The Pacific Ocean eduntries particularly are planning to sending big delegations. Word received from Congress members in almost every country of tne world indicate that the sessions in Honolulu will he representative of many nations and of every field of jour- 1 nalistic endeavour. Although detailed arrangements for the Philippine excursion are still incomplete, it can he said now that the opportunity thus offered for a visit to this far away Pacific territory is a rare one. Information now at hand from representatives of the Philippine Government explains briefly that the guests will receive jlio famous hospitality of the Islands in its fullest extent, and will he given every means for seeing the points of greatest interest. Should any number of Congress visitors desire to extend the voyage to Japan and China, officials of the Congress will undertake the organisation of parties to make such further extensions. Visits by delegates from the Old World to the American continents likewise will he arranged. Mr Robert Bell is the New Zealand representative on the Executive Committee of the Congress.
