CORRESPONDENCE
• THE SCHOOL MEMORIAL
(To the Editor.)
Sir.—lt was with pleasure that I read your sub leader last night in connection with the School War Memorial. Permit me lfc> correct you in one respect. It is not the intention of the committee to erect the memorial “within the precincts of the school building” but to have some permanent memorial erected in the school grounds with a surrounding plot suitably laid off. Such was the decision of the School Committee at its last monthly meeting when the preliminary discussion as to ways and means took place. The Committee would welcome the assistance of all members of the community, more particularly scholars and ex-scholars of the school, in this worthy object.
W. H. SHANNON, Chairman Hokitika School Committee
