SILESIAN PLEBISCITE
GEEIIAN MAJORITY IN SILESIA
BY TELECHIAPH —PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT,
AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LONDON, March 21. The latest German Silesian figures give the pre-German majority of 253,000 votes. The "real significance however, attaches to the voting in the various areas, whereof the figures have not yet been analysed. The indications are that some important industrial aieas are solidly pro-German. SILESIAN PLEBISCITE. FRENCH PRESS DISAPPOINTED. (Received This Day at 9.45 a.m.) PARIS, March 22. The Press are disappointed at the Upper Silesian voting. The “Francaise” fears the moral effect on the Huns of the capture of adherents. The “Le Journal” maintains the Allies must take account of the voting in southern districts containing mineral wealth, and see that they are liberated from the German yoke. The “Libre” says the Allies must not hand over the Silesian u'ealth to Geimany without imposing charges and mortgages.
