An old miner, Mr William Moloney, passed away in the Old People’s Home, Kumarn, yesterday. The deceased was a native of Cork, Ireland, and 86 years of age. For many years he resided at Ross, where he was well known.

The many friends of Mr W. Dixon, formerly of Hokitika, will regret to bear of bis death which took place at Auckland on Monday last. The late M r Dixon followed the occupation of a tailor in this town for many years. He married a daughter of Mr G. Heinz. He was a keen swimming enthusiast, and a prominent member of St Mary’s Club in its early days.
