Replying to Mr Seddon (Westland) Sir H. Rhodes said h« was contemplating sending the exhibition of war trophies round the Dominion. FREIGHTS ON FLAX.
Replying to Air Field, Hon. Nosworthv said the question of freights 011 flax was being looked into by the Viicmier. The question of encouraging the growth of flax was under consideration by Department. NAURU PHOSPHATE. Replying to Afr Poland, Afr Massey said he was confident that all the phosphates New Zealand would r. quire would be obtained from Nauru and Ocean Islands without any difficulty. There was no clause of a monopoly, arising in connection with the clause for distribution in New Zealand. MEAT EXPORT. Replying to Air MrCallum, IJOII Nos worthy said the Government had no Intention of modifying the attitude taken up towards Armour and Co. In amplification of this .eply Mr Alassey said it bad come to the knowledge' of tile Government that the Freezing Coy., which controlled a certain amount of shipping bad not been playing the game, inasmuch >s during the past two days they bad brn loading this season's mutton and lamb, instead of last years beef. Replying to Air Smith (Tarnaki) Air Alassey maintained that there had been a considerable decline in the cost of living. If wages in the public service were increased to meet 1 lie cost of living they must Ih> de>Teased when ; the fall takes place. The arrangement must cut both ways.
