A sitting of the Court was held at the Public Hall, Hari I lari, when the following business was dealt- with:—' The Policy charged a resident ot The Forks with being drunk in charge of a horse and cart, on 18th. January. A’fter hearing evidence a conviction was recorded and defendant fined £4, with costs (including witnesses expenses of 71/3) £4 l‘2s 3d. A resident of Wataroa on a charge of drunkenness w,a.s convicted and fined 10/- with costs 15/-.

Francos U. Holley, being n person not the licensee of tile Better ’Ole Hotel, Wataron on a charge of supplying liquor to a drunken man was convicted and fined £7 and costs 7/-. A second charge was withdrawn. Thomas Foster, licensee of th ( , nocommodation house “Better ’Ole,” Wataroa on a. charge of permitting drunkenness on the premises was convicted and ordered to pay costs amounting to £0 12s. (including £8 11s witnesses). On a second charge of supplying liquor to an intoxicated person defend- 1 ant was convicted and fined £o and | costs 7/-.
