POLLARD’S PICTURES. “A DAUGHTER OF EVE” THURSDAY. On Thursday evening (no pictures Wednesday, owing to the Irish concert) Pollard's present an all British film. ‘ A Daughter of Eve” starring Violet Hopson and Stewart Rome. The story tells of a murder mystery that keeps you quivering with the intensity of its tinfolding. Yon see the wrong man accused, found guilty by twelve of i is lellow-men sentenced and on his way to meet his maker -surely nothing etui intervene to save him. The girl lie loves reads the result of the trial and sentence in a paper two days old—she can save him if she is only in time—she rushes for a ear and speeds eyes out for th(. prison to arrive too late. It must be seen to lie believed, ’ll)is is a typically British story, with Britain’s two foremost stars Violet Hopson and Stewart Rome, in the leading roles. Stewart Rome is considered the handsomest actor in Britain to-day. Although a drama there is plenty of real comedy to relieve Hie tensity of tho situations, and - the >/reduction is on a scale of lavishness *eidom equalled. Further chapters of the serial “Smash ing Barriers” will !;e screened and Pollard’s Orchestra will supply the music.
