j Tlit' Council met at 8 p.m. Present —Messrs G. A. Perry (Mayor), Coulson Wood, Breeze, Warren, Tliompson, Me Gregor, King, Parkhill and Blank. • „ SPECIAL MEETING. The District Electors List was presented by the Town Clerk as complete. The List was approved on the motion ot -Messrs Blank, seconded by Mr King. Tenders for printing the roll were opened and the tender of the Guardian and Times Coy accepted. OH DIN Alt Y M EETING. The minutes were confirmed and out ward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From Medical Officer of Health acknowledging resolve of Council to give Department authority to carry out provisions of Health Act.—Received. From West Coast Ambulance Association asking assistance in aid of raising funds for purchase of a motor ambulance, to be attached to Westland Hospital; inviting endorsement and appointment of two members to represent the Council.—Received. Mr C'oulson moved that support be given and Me ■ssrs Ward and Breeze represent the Council.—Seconded by Mr Warren and carried.
From Town Clerk, notifying statement of expenses under the Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, the Council’s share being £lB 2s fid.—Received and passed for payment. From J. J. Breeze, Junr., notifying sale of billiard room to A. J. Wilmot, and asking for transfer of balance of license.—Received and agreed to. From Chief Explosives Officer, Wellington, forwarding copy of Arms Act, and enquiring if Council desires to be appointed as agent.—Received; referred to Finance Committee. From Health Officer, Christchurch, notifying notification under Health Act.—Received; already attended to. From A. li. Boyd, offering to take over management of the Pioneer Monument and Macandrew Square.—Received. Mr Blank moved that the offer he accepted at £lB per year.— Seconded by Mr Breeze and carried. REPORTS. From Treasurer, reporting receipts £.')'> I 1 (is fid, payments £235 Is 71, bank debit balance £ 111!) fis 7d. —Received. From Finance Committee, recommending payment of accounts, amounting to £-102 ISs 7d. Received and adopted. From Manager Abattoirs (Mr -J. .Jarman) reporting there were examined during February, 12 cows. 7fi bullocks, "Kid sheep, 121 lambs, 12 pigs, 5 calves, Condemned I cow; fees for month £Ol 14s. —Received. . BOROUGH OVERSEER. ! Applications for the position ol Borough Overseer were received from Messrs Robert Lynn and James R. M Miner. On the motion of Messrs Blank and | Thompson, -Mr .James .Milliter was appointed unanimously to the position. : Mr Coulson asked for the appointment of a committee consisting of Messrs Coulson and Thompson to consider and report on the question of the erection of a women’s rest.—Seconded bv Mr Parkhill and carried.
Mr Br eeze drew attention to the unsatisfactory state ol North Revell Street, and asked that the attention of the Inspector he drawn thereto. The Council rose at S.fiO p.m.
