[BY TELEGItAPII —PER'PRESS ASSOCIATION] A LABOUR DISPUTE. DUNEDIN, Fell. 16. What threatened to he serious trouble among the slaughtermen at Burnside to-day, was fortunately ended at 4 p.m., and a satisfactory agreement reached. Objection was taken to the employment at the killing hoard of a man who was termed a free labourer. His dismissal was demanded, and when the management positively refused to accede to the request, some of the men adopted the “go slow” policy, killing only two sheep an hour, instead of the usual 10. The company began to put them off. Ultimately the union decided to waive its object ion to the employment of this man, and a complete settlement was reached. I’KTON REGATTA RESULTS.
