POLLARD’S PICTURES.
A special attraction will be screened at Pollards on Monday next including two big features. The first part will consist of ‘‘The First Law” starring Trene Castle and Antonio Moreno and it very strong east of Rathe Players. The play is a society drama, and Irene Castle is seen at her best. What was she? Neither widow nor bride. She had unwittingly laid herself open to the charge if bigamy—and she felt the grip- slowly tightening, of the blood-sucking tentacles of crime around her. One wav was open to her should she take it? And, as usual, the woman paid - hut in paying she wiped clean the slate of the past ,and found in it great love the solace and comfort that healed the wounds of past agony. In the second part of the programme Larry Semon one of the world’s greatest comedians will he seen in his latest release by the Vitagraph Coy. ‘‘The Grocery Clerk” a side splitting comedy. The evolution | of the sideache, seeing ‘‘The Grocery Clerk.”A on start with a grouch, the grouch becomes a grin, the grin becomes a snigger, the snigger becomes n giggle, the giggle becomes a smile, the smile becomss a laugh, the laugh becomes a roar, the roar .becomes a shout ,tlio shout becomes a convulsion the convulsion becomes a side-ache, and you become a nuisance, and there you are.
